The senior quartermaster travelled to Rouen to hold a quartermaster conference with the quartermasters of Higher Commands XXXII and LX and the Ib officers of the divisions in their command areas.
Subjects for discussion:
1. Responsibility of quartermasters and Ib officers in all supply matters. Cooperation of the quartermasters with Sections IVa, IVb and IVc [administration, medical and veterinary].
2. The Army’s fuel situation. Consumption must be reduced as far as possible. Existing stocks must be checked.
3. Reports.
4. Equipment permanently assigned to the locality. Preparation of inventories and supervision of the existing stocks by the quartermasters.
5. “Auferstehung” [“Resurrection”]. Manning the hired vehicles and the vehicles allocated to “Auferstehung”.
6. The supply situation of 7th Flieger Division [airborne division].
7. Employment of the horses of 319th Infantry Division which are on the mainland.
Special Instructions for Supply and for the Supply Troops No. 21 were issued.

Editorial note: Related entry concerning the island garrison division, rather than a reference naming an island. Complete diary entry for 10 April.

Related records: the 7 July 1942 Roll 504 entry and 7 July 1942 Part 2 concern the subsequent employment of the division’s mainland horses. This is a separate April conference, not a duplicate July event.
