Diary Entry
1 November 1944 Island radio communications
Regulation of radio traffic. Following Naval High Command West’s assumption of command over the fortresses, all fortress radio traffic will, with Commander-in-Chief West’s agreement, be handled by naval radio. Other radio facilities in the fortress areas will serve as reserves if naval stations fail. The only exceptions are the Army Group B–XXV Army Corps (Lorient) and Luftwaffe Command West–Channel Islands links for service-administrative messages, whose volume has placed an unnecessary considerable load on naval communications. The Fifteenth Army–Dunkirk link also remains for rapid transmission of reconnaissance results.
