Seventh Army situation, 1–7 November 1942. Schematic operational map.

Legend: red, Army reserve; black, Army Group reserve. The original colours cannot reliably be distinguished in this monochrome reproduction.

The Channel Islands are shown with 319th Infantry Division at Guernsey, and Sark and Jersey labelled. Mainland formations marked include 320th Division near Valognes, 716th near Caen, II/202 near Périers, SS Das Reich near Saint-Lô, 257th around Morlaix–Landerneau, 343rd at Guingamp, 709th at Lamballe, 161st at Tréssaint, 335th around Châteaulin, 17th at Quimperlé, 346th near Guillac, 182nd near Auray and 333rd near Pontchâteau. Other marks include Division Hermann Göring, 6th Panzer Division near Rennes, the SS Panzer Corps at Nogent-le-Rotrou, Seventh Army Headquarters at Le Mans, Rear Area Commander 588 at Laval, and armoured artillery near Mayenne. Corps Headquarters G is annotated at Guingamp with a formation-date note.

“Rear boundary of the coastal combat zone” is marked east of the coastal area. The original preserves the full boundaries and military symbols; small, faint annotations are not all confidently readable.
